Thanksgiving at our House

I cannot begin to tell you how great Holly did at hosting our Thanksgiving. She had everything just perfect and did it all pretty smoothly and calmly. The house looked great, the hospitality was warm, and the food was amazing.

We started by giving thanks and reading Psalm 100. We were thankful to be able to host with the house and resources God has given us. We were thankful to be with my grandparents who are both in the mid 80's and made the drive from San Antonio, TX. We were thankful to be with my Mom as she celebrated 4 years free from breast cancer. We were thankful to be with Bob who had major heart surgery a year ago. We were thankful to be healthy and be together.

I was soooo impressed with Holly. I was so impressed with the food. We have a tiny little kitchen and Holly prepared a full thanksgiving meal and had it all on the table hot and ready all at once. From the turkey and brisket, to the great salad (Bob's favorite), to the green bean and sweet potato casseroles, to the mashed potatoes with two kinds of gravy, etc, it was great. It tasted so good I could hardly believe it. I was so impressed with the taste of the food it was as though she had been preparing these foods for years. The meal really was amazing.

It was fun to have eveyone over to our new house. We had good fellowship and watched football after dinner. Then we put on the coffee and broke out the desserts. Pumpkin, pecan, and chocolate pies along with red velvet cake...and the whip cream Holly whipped up...it was a great finish.

I'm sure everyone has a similar story about their Thanksgiving but I was so proud of Holly I just had to tell you about it.

Holly and Brian,
Holly--It sounds like you did a great job. I know you had thought about that menu for a while. I still would love to see more pictures of the house. I guess I might just have to come see it myself. We look forward to seeing you on Christmas.

Holly did a great job......Brian is right. The food was great, the table setting was beautiful and we had a great time.

One new thing I am really enjoying is for the first time in a very very long time, I did not have to do all the cooking and cleaning....just one more wonderful thing about our terrific daughter-in-law. Brian, Bob, and my Dad all agreed she was a keeper...and of course my Mother was so happy that Brian found such a good cook and homemaker. They are still talking about how much they enjoyed Thanksgiving.

I hope everyone gets a chance to come down and see their new home and enjoy the GREAT STATE OF TEXAS!! You are more than welcome to come and stay in the country with us....we are only 45 minutes from Brian and Holly and would love to meet all their friends have her family visit too.

I think it's about time for an update! We're almost two holidays from your last one and I know you've had some adventures since then.
